what we at s-c-p call 'cbooks' is usually called a 'chapbook'. chapbook is a literary term for small pamphlet usually of one author's work. the tradition goes back to Dicken's time in the United Kingdom, where inexpensive serial editions of novels were released weekly so the common-people could read then-new literature.

at s-c-p 1,2, we have changed this. our cbooks are published on finest acid-free paper. scp-1 has gathered a collection of experimental and non-mainstream literary and visual poetry authors together. scp-1 is completed now, and we've moved on to:

scp-2..... similar production values, but with a durable and acid-free cover are still there. now, though, the cbooks highlight the visual experience, and are in the realm of 'artist's books', those statements of principle and beauty that characterize fine art.
